Position Opening: Right of Way Manager

 Position Opening for Right- Of-Way Manager at Owen Electric Cooperative

 A Bachelor Degree in Forestry or Vegetation Management and/or journeyman lineman credentials with 10 years of experience required or the ability to obtain such credentials. Experience in Electric Utility Distribution systems is highly desired. Must obtain the Arborist Certification within two years of beginning the responsibilities of the position.

This position is primarily responsible for coordinating trim and spray schedules, performing quality control and Safety audits, member relations, and budgets for contractors to clear OEC right-of-ways by means of mechanical and manual trimming, and spraying of herbicides in a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost effective manner. It is the objective of the Right-of-Way Manager to work with membership in balancing the benefits of maintaining good distribution right-of-ways and the sensitivity of egress of private property.

Experience in forestry and/or vegetation management as well as knowledge of Electric Utility distribution systems is highly desired. Experience in administrative responsibilities involving budgeting, personnel administration, quality control and GIS technology desired at entry level but will be required within the first year of the beginning the responsibilities of the position. Personnel must possess skills that allow you to implement economical and effective methods of distribution line clearing within schedules and company budgets. Must be able to handle and resolve member complaints in a courteous and professional manner. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with other work groups within OEC, consumers and outside organizations. Must be able to resolve problems and make effective decisions on a daily basis. Must relate and interact with OEC employees as well as various external contacts. Must present self in a professional manner to the public and to our members. Employee shall possess a valid Kentucky drivers’ license. Position requires working both in an office and field setting. Position is required to have knowledge of various equipment involved in tree clearing and various computer software/programs and use of Ipads required to perform duties. Must abide by company safety rules. Position will be required to attend various trainings and seminars.
